For tougher stains, a non-abrasive soap formulated specifically for natural stone can be used, or you may opt for a professional cleaner available at your local tile shop. It\u2019s important to avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, alkalis, ammonia, vinegar, alcohol, abrasive acids, or any corrosive substances, as well as refraining from scrubbing the basin with sponges, wire scouring pads, brushes, or abrasive cloths to prevent scratching. To protect the surface and prevent stain development, applying a specialized water-repellent treatment designed for stone once a year is advised, which you can find at your local hardware or tile store.<\/p>

All natural stones have their own strengths and vulnerabilities. Although our marble is treated with a special stone sealer that provides some level of protection, it needs to be reapplied every 8-12 months. Even so, by its nature, marble is sensitive to acidic substances from food or drinks (coffee, water, alcohol, carbonated beverages, sauces, chemicals, perfumes, etc.), which can leave stains if not removed and cleaned immediately. Even water can seep through the pores of the stone and leave discoloured areas.<\/p>

We strongly recommend cleaning the surface immediately with a dry cloth or paper tissue; please do not rub or scratch the surface as it might leave undesirable marks. Please use coasters, trivets, and placemats to protect the surface from objects that can scratch it. For daily maintenance, regularly clean the stone with a soft microfiber cloth. If necessary, you can also use warm water with a small amount of pH-neutral dishwashing liquid or a professional cleaner solution for natural stones, available at your local tile store. Remove any residue from the surface with another clean, soft cloth. We recommend using a special natural stone soap to treat difficult stains.<\/p>
